We’ve been growing steadily since forming in 2003, but our most impressive period of expansion has come within the past five years. Since moving into our current office on Cardiff’s St Mary Street in 2014, our staff has grown from 14 people to 40 people and we’re not looking to slow down any time soon. Our increased headcount not only represents growth, our people enable it.

Our onboarding and training process is one we’re proud of, and our clear progression routes have meant that consultants who made their first-ever placement with us are still at CPS Group in more senior positions. We’re proud of our working culture, and that plays a huge role in letting our employees grow which, in turn, aids business growth. We hire the right people and we invest in them; our staff are rewarded for good performances, including our annual ski trip every February and summer holidays to Ibiza.

That loyalty extends to our clients as well. Some of the businesses we serve now first tasked us with recruiting for them more than a decade ago, including some of Wales’ biggest firms. Our biggest sense of satisfaction came from our clients asking if we were able to recruit beyond our usual remit of tech roles, leading us to set up our sister brand FaulknerScott so as not to dilute our specialism – we wanted to avoid becoming a jack of all trades, master of none. Our team are exceptionally talented at what they do and the proof is in the pudding.


We are the experts at finding experts. Our consultants find the highest calibre candidates for our clients and we’ve worked with some of the UK’s best known brands to find the tech talent they need. We focus on long-term solutions for our clients – we have never been the type of recruiters to collect and collate a ream of CVs, give them to the client and hope that one fits the bill. Quality, care and consideration are our bread and butter.

Recruitment has a reputation for its high staff turnover, so we’re quite a unique example in the sector for longevity of service. That’s because alongside our aim to provide businesses with the best candidates available, we have an internal goal to create and maintain the best office environment in Cardiff. Our purpose as business owners is to ensure our employees enjoy coming to work everyday, and leave feeling fulfilled.

Our commitment to our staff has been recognised too – we are an Investors in People accredited business, and recently won Big Agency of the Year at the RDLC Awards 2019, beating hundreds of English firms to the top spot. We have also previously been named Employer of the Year at Cardiff Business Awards, a prize which we are now proud to sponsor.


Tech is more than what we do, it’s at the heart of what we do. We’ve watched so many other industries be totally changed by digital disruption and are aware of the huge impact tech can have on our ways of working. Recruitment is still a fairly traditional sector, but we’d be shortsighted not to expect it to be transformed in the very near future.

We are, therefore, determined to be early adopters of new technology and so we’ve already invested in artificial intelligence and machine learning to streamline our business and give our consultants all the tools they need to make their jobs as simple as possible.

Recruitment will always need a human touch, and we have some of the best consultants in the industry under our roof so we don’t want to take them away from the front line. Investing in tech frees them up to concentrate on the things that digital will never replace, like building relationships with clients and finding the best placement for candidates. After all, that is what we have built our brand on, and what makes our clients stay with us.
